Eye spy...some bling

This week's theme was a bit hard for me to get a handle on. I'm not a bling-y person. I rarely wear jewelry, I don't like rhinestones, and I don't generally decorate with shiney objects. Attracted and distracted by shiny objects? Of course. So, I decided to use this little ornament...

Do you see it? It's right here..

It's one of those ornaments that have made it through years of Christmases in our house. I can't remember a single Christmas with out this and several other ornaments. My mom, just a couple weeks ago, gave us a box of stuff she had packed away with s ton of her handmade ornaments, this one single glass ornament and a couple of other odds and ends. I was so tickled to see this shiny little bauble! Too bad this is the only one of the glass ones that survived.

Thanks to Hoppo Bumpo for the topic! Check out some more bling over at Bug and Pop.

As a side note, a while back I said that since this is the first fireplace I've ever had I will make a point of making a fire and drink hot chocolate in front of the fire. So that's what I did. We were all cozy and warm with our frst fire in our new house with a nice big mug of steaming hot chocolate...

Very pretty bling, and I would love to sit by your fireplace with a cuppa too. Looks so cosy

A lovely litle piece of bling. I also had trouble with this week's (so skipped it in the end) - I'm also a non-bling person.

How I envy your fireplace! It's so cold here and Japanese places are built for the hot summer and are iceboxes in winter with no central heating!
