This is...really really late.

This week's topic was all about showing off. Katie at May The Cloth Be With You picked this theme and she said to "share in some unashamedly showing off and boasting. It could be something you can do, have made, have bought. Anything you are dying to show the world."

So, I picked something a little strange. My work timecards. I've worked at my current company for ten years and around 6 months into my first year I decided to start decorating the tops of my time cards for a couple of reasons, the first and foremost being that I hate standing infront of the cards trying to find mine and second because I personalize everything to within an inch of its life. Well, just this year I thought to make copies of them and keep an archive. And that's really too bad cuz there have been some real doozies in the past. Anyway, here's a collage of some of them...

I'm not sure which one I like most but I just wanted to mention a few of them. The one on the end of the second row was done the week of our latest earthquake, the one right below that has morning glories because that's the official September flower and the big 35 was in honor of my birthday. So there you have what takes up anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes every Thursday morning. To see them in their entirety go here.

If you'd like to see more show-offs check us out at Three Buttons. Thanks to Katie for this week's theme.

Flickr Favs Friday

I'm a car person. Have been since I was a wee thing when my dad had this Ford pick up truck that made me feel like one of those princesses in a parade. You know how they sit up higher than everybody, that's what this felt like. A big huge pick up that sat higher than most cars on the road was the impetus to my car fetish. There was a time (around the 4th or 5th grade) when I could tell you the make and model of every car that passed by, old or new. Now-a-days, I'm lucky if I recognize my own car. Especially in a crowded parking lot...yikes! Getting old sucks.

Anyway, here's a mosaic dedicated to my long lost love...the car...

1. Bentley in front of Cartier, 2. Good Morning Lake Mirror Classic, 3. Maybach_Coupe_01, 4. AMVanq, 5. Classic Mercedes automobile, 6. Holy crap! An actual Ford Edsel!, 7. 1969 Pontiac Trans Am, 8. DS face, 9. 1958 BMW Mini, 10. I so want this car!, 11. Vroom, 12. Selective Color 1960 Vette, 13. Cuda BARRACUDA plymouth 1968, 14. Race From the Light, 15. Rolls Royce

Just FYI...

This is my dog's favorite toy. Well, really, it's more than a toy, it's his most stalwart and loyal buddy, his security blanket, if you will. It's dirty, it stinks, in general it's just gross. But he loves it. He drags this little thing everywhere. Last night I got to the point where I just couldn't bear having it on my bed, which is where it inevitably ends up. So I put in the wash right before I went to sleep so the dog was without all night. He spent a good long while sniffing around for it both last night before going to sleep and this morning when he woke up. It breaks my heart a little everytime I put in the wash because he seems so lost with out it.

But he gets so happy when he gets it back. As soon as I brought that little thing out of the laundry room he attached himself to it and wouldn't let it out of his sight. Too cute! My favorite part of this whole thing...look how clean it is!!

What's in a name?

Here are a couple more pics of the new kitty. Since I've decided to keep her I feel bad calling her "kitty" so I was wondering if anybody out there had suggestions for a name? Leave it in the comments if you do. I'd love to hear any and all suggestions. Oh, yeah, we don't know if it's a boy or a girl...the vet couldn't tell, she's still too little, but I'm pretty sure she's a she, I think.

This is...what I wanna be when I grow up.

This question has been the bane of my existence for the last 20 years. Mostly because at any given time there is a list of about 5 or 6 different professions that would easily fit as an answer. There's never been one thing that stood out as my talent, my calling, whatever you want to call it. Plus there's the whole boredom factor. I get bored very quickly with some things. Because of all this, my answer to this question is always "happy"...I want to be happy. Is it a cop out answer? I don't think so. It's true. I want to be doing things that will make me happy. Whether that be crafting, working, travelling, baking, painting, whatever.

Cute Kitty

In my last post I mentioned that we might have a new addition to our household but I didn't want to say too much cuz I wasn't really sure. Well, I'm still not sure but I just couldn't keep these pics to myself anymore. We had this little teeny tiny kitty show up at our office with no mommy cat in sight so Gloria, whom I carpool with, and I decided to take her home and get her washed up and checked out by my vet. So, an hour of bathing and a $77 trip to the vet later I had this little fur ball. Originally, I brought her home thinking I could find a good home for her but couldn't find anybody to take her, so I thought I'd end up keeping her but there are a few things that have me thinking otherwise. First, I'm having allergy issues. I don't know if they are to her or just general allergies which I get 3 or 4 times a year. Second, my dog only tolerates her to a point then he starts nipping at the little scamp. And third, I'm not sure I have the energy to keep up with this little ball of energy, especially during the moving process. I have a friend who knows someone who wants a kitty so they might take her but, really, I go back and forth in my head about wanting to keep her. So, for now, we have this spazzy little hair ball tromping around our home.
She's ADORABLE!

And did I mention spazzy?

Little kitties are such fun to watch.

She was absolutely flea infested and super skinny but just after 3 days she's getting some meat on her bones and has ALL her energy back.

This was before his tolerance ran out.

This is WAY before the tolerance ran out. He actually looks happy here.

One down one to go

My computer at work is mostly fixed...Oh Blogger, how I missed you!!! I kinda accidentally opened an email that had a virus attached to it so my work computer was out of commission for the last week. But now it's better and I'm free to blog - woo hoo!!! Well, free as long as I don't get caught :)

So, there's not much to tell, really. We've been busy packing for the move so I haven't had time to do much. However, there might be an addition to our household, I'm not going to say too much cuz I don't know for sure if it's going to happen. I'll tell you more about that later.

My birthday is this Saturday and originally I was going to treat myself to a full on pampered weekend but the little voice in my head is apparently a cheap skate so instead I'm going to treat myself to one of the gadgets that has been on my wish list. The ipod touch.

Isn't it perty? It cost's about 1/3 the amount of money I would have spent on a weekend of strangers touching me, slathering goop on me, trying to make me feel relaxed when really, I couldn't because of how much it was costing me. So I think this is the better choice of the two. This will last longer.

So that's where I'm at in life. Celebrating turning 35 by indulging my inner child and buying myself a toy. I love it.

Zzzzzzt! Bang!! GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

I'm sure you're curious about that title. Well, those are the sounds the were heard tonight at our house when the AC adapter for my laptop BLEW UP IN MY HAND!!!!!!!!!!! I'm neither exagerating nor kidding. I'm so fed up with Best Buy / Toshiba right now. We took our computer in back in July and they had it for almost a month. Now almost exactly a month later (we got it back on Aug 16th) the "replacement adapter" that they gave us, because the old one pooped out, blows up. This is not a good sign. Anyway, just wanted to rant about that. I'm feeling much better now, except that my hand is a bit singed and a little tingly, not to mention the stink of all that melted electrical stuff. Better go before my puter battery dies. Have a good weekend everybody!

Little Peanut update

It's been a while since I wrote about my favorite little peanut. He's doing great, happy as a clam, & cute as a button. Here are some pics...

Those are his parents, they sure make a cute baby don't they? Then Roscoe with LP. And this last pic is, I must say, my favorite. That bib was fighting a losing battle from the start.

Anyway, just wanted to share an update because it's been a while and because he's just so darn cute!
