On the 17th of this month my sister's school (she's a teacher, not a student) is having their annual pancake breakfast. Each year they also have a craft fair so my sis and I signed up for a booth. We've had other booths where we sold anything from handmade backpack purses to our pottery. This year it's going to be a mish mash of handmade items - hair thingies, a couple of blankets I've pieced together, some blankets, wraps, scarves, etc. that my mother has knitted/crocheted, and who knows what else we'll come up with. So, if you're reading this, wish us luck and here's a sampling of my hair thingies (cuz that's all I have completed at this time).
These are just the normal barrettes that most little girls wear. I'm not sure what their official name is but I call them bumpy clips cuz of the sound they make when you open and close them.

These are all head bands. The black ones I found at Wal-Mart in a pack of 8 or 10 and I thought they could use some embellishment, same with the thin elastic ones really. They all just looked so plain that I couldn't help but put the flowers on.

That's just a sampling really of what were going to have. The next two weeks are going to be a frenzy of sewing and stuff. Wish us luck.

when txting the word hermana does your predictive txt suggest "gerontocracy" ?

mine did.

I had to look it up.

thought of you.

... not cuz youre old... just cuz youd think it was funny.

... not to say that youre old... cuz youre not... they call it "mature" now... or sometimes "silver".

... not to say you have gray hair... cuz you have lovely hair... in fact in a gerontocracy you would have the prettiest hair.

... not to say you would be in the ruling class... cuz that would mean youre old... but youre not.
